Clarity before you share your situation
Good to know beforehand
A hair transplant in Istanbul is not a small decision. That's why I find it important to be clear beforehand about privacy, costs, my role, and what the clinic does and doesn't assess.
Exploring first
Can I speak with you first?
Yes. You can first ask questions about how I experienced the process at this clinic. If we meet in person, you can also see my result with your own eyes. That's obviously no guarantee for your own result, but it can help you get a more realistic picture.
Did you have treatment at this clinic yourself?
Yes. HaarTransparant grew out of my own experience with this clinic. I was treated there myself and know the people behind the process personally.
Do you work together with the clinic?
Yes. I work on a commercial basis with one clinic in Istanbul: the clinic where I was treated myself. If you end up with this clinic via HaarTransparant, I may receive compensation for that. You always decide for yourself whether to continue, and I share nothing with the clinic without your separate consent.
When do I find out which clinic it is?
As soon as your intake is practically complete and I ask whether your situation may be presented to the clinic for a first assessment, you'll see clearly on a personal consent page which clinic is involved. You then decide for yourself whether to give consent.
Data and consent
What happens to my data and photos?
HaarTransparant uses the data and photos you share yourself to practically check your intake, get in touch with you, and possibly later separately ask your consent to present your situation to the clinic. Without that separate consent, your intake information, medical information, and photos are not shared with the clinic. More information is in the privacy statement.
When does the clinic get my full contact details?
For the first assessment, your name, email address and phone number are shared in masked form. Your full contact details are only shared once the clinic sees possibilities and you separately give consent for that afterwards.
What happens if I give consent for the first assessment?
Then your intake information, medical information and photos are shared with the clinic, so they can do a first assessment. Your name, email address and phone number are masked in the process. Your full contact details are not yet shared at that point.
What happens if I give consent to share my contact details?
Then your full name, email address and phone number are shared with the clinic, and the clinic contacts you directly. From that moment on, you discuss the possibilities, the proposal, the price, the planning, the payment and any treatment directly with the clinic.
Can I withdraw my consent later?
Yes. You can withdraw a given consent by getting in touch with me. Withdrawing consent doesn't change anything about processing that was already lawfully carried out before that. The privacy statement explains how to submit a request and what happens if data has already been shared with the clinic.
Assessment and follow-up
Who does the medical assessment?
The clinic assesses whether a treatment is possible and responsible, and which approach suits your situation. I don't give medical advice and don't determine whether you're suitable for a treatment.
Do I get a price proposal right away?
No. The clinic first assesses your intake. Only once they see possibilities and you give consent for contact can the clinic discuss a concrete proposal with you directly.
How quickly do I hear something back after my intake?
I review every intake myself and usually respond within a few business days.
Do you stay involved once I have direct contact with the clinic?
Once your full contact details have been shared, you discuss the online consultation, the possibilities, the proposal, the price, the planning, the payment, and any treatment directly with the clinic. I don't arrange these parts on your behalf, but you can keep approaching me before, during and after the process with questions or doubts. I'm happy to think along with you based on what I've been through myself.
Travel and aftercare
Do I have to arrange my own flight?
Yes. You book and pay for your own flight. A plane ticket is not included in the clinic's packages. Coordinate your arrival and departure dates directly with the clinic beforehand, so they line up with your treatment schedule.
How do I arrange insurance for the trip?
Check before departure how you're insured in Turkey. I think it's wise to take out travel insurance that's valid in Turkey and covers medical costs and, if needed, medical transport back to the Netherlands. Keep in mind that travel insurance doesn't automatically cover costs related to a planned hair transplant. Ask your health and travel insurer beforehand, preferably in writing, which unexpected medical costs during your trip are and aren't covered.
What if I have questions or concerns after the treatment?
As long as you're in Istanbul, you're close to the team that treated you. If you have questions or concerns, you can contact the clinic directly so they can assess you there. Once you're back home, you can stay in touch with the clinic, and for medical complaints you can go to your GP or out-of-hours GP service. I can think along with you practically based on my own experience, but I don't give medical advice.
Costs, freedom and expectations
Does a conversation with you or the clinic cost money?
A conversation with me is free, and the first contact with the clinic costs you nothing too. You're not committing to anything. If you decide to continue, you discuss any costs and payments directly with the clinic.
Do I have to make a deposit, and can I still cancel?
The assessment and receiving a proposal do not obligate you to book a treatment. Once you decide to book, the clinic gives you the applicable terms on payment, any deposit, rescheduling, cancelling and not showing up. Always read these carefully before agreeing. HaarTransparant does not set these terms and does not receive your payment.
Am I committing to anything?
Sharing your situation, the first assessment, and receiving a proposal do not obligate you to book a treatment. Until you confirm a booking, you can decide at any time, without further obligation, not to continue. If you agree to the clinic's booking terms, arrangements can then apply regarding payment, rescheduling, cancelling or not showing up.
Is your experience a guarantee for my result?
No. Every case of hair loss, treatment plan and recovery is personal. My experience can help you understand the process better, but your situation and what's realistic are always assessed by the clinic.
Is this medical advice?
No. I don't give medical advice, don't make a diagnosis, and don't determine whether a treatment is responsible. I only check practically whether your intake is complete and clear enough to present to the clinic.
Don't see your question here?
Feel free to get in touch. You can first just ask your question and don't have to fill in a full intake right away.
